Garuda Wisnu Kencana


Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park is a tourist park in the area Unggasan Jimbaran - Bali. GWK statue is a replica statue of the god Vishnu riding on the vehicle named: Garuda as high as 12 meters, the work of renowned sculptor Bali, I Nyoman Nuarta. Area Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park located at an altitude of 146 meters above ground level or 263 feet above sea level. If we want to visit Dreamland and Uluwatu, will surely pass the location of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK).
The statue was projected to tie spatial visibility to 20 km so that it can be seen from Kuta, Sanur, Nusa Dua up to Tanah Lot. The statue is made from a mixture of copper and steel weighing 4,000 tons, with a height 75 meters and 60 meters wide. If construction is finished, this sculpture will become the largest sculpture in the world and beat the Statue of Liberty.
If you visit on the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) and got there around 17:30 pm, you can see a beautiful sunset. After viewing the sunset, you can watch the performance art that is very spectacular. various kinds of dance is presented to impress the audience, from traditional dance of Bali, a combination of dance from several regions in Indonesia through a combination of Balinese-style modern dance. You can also see the Barong dance and fire dance ball is very popular in Bali.
