Bali is very famous for his art, one art so fascinating is the Barong dance, Barong Ket or Barong Keket are most numerous in Bali and most often performed as well as having a complete diversity of dance movement. From its form, Barong Ket is a combination of lion, tiger, cow or Boma. Barong body is decorated with carvings made of leather, affixed to the sparkling mirror glass and fur made from Perasok (fiber of a type of plant similar to pandanus leaf), fibers or others of crow feathers.
To carry this Barong dancers carried by two people who called Saluk Interpreter / Interpreter Bapang, a dancer in the head and the other in the buttocks and tail. But in Bali, in fact, not only in Barong embodied in four-legged animals but there is also a two-legged. Barong mask is made from wood taken from haunted places such as tombs, and therefore sacred Barong is an object that is consecrated by the Balinese Hindu community. This dance show with or without act, always beginning with the demonstration accompanied by gamelan performances are different, such as gamelan Gong Kebyar, Babarongan gamelan and gamelan batel.
From several sources, some say this dance originates from the Bamboo Curtain country, because it resembles a dancing Chinese Lion Dance. But definitely where even though the original, not a problem, because the dance is full of the value of the story and also some fresh jokes.
